"Spam Report" in "My Job Posts"

Q: What does "Spam Report" column in "My Job Posts" list mean?

A: That column indicates how many "Spam Report" clicks every of your job got.
Usually you will see "Spam Report" column empty, but if some of your job postings look like spam to job seekers -- they will report your job posting as spam.
In this case you will see number of times each of your job was reported as spam.

Q: I see that some of my jobs are marked as spam. What do I do?

A: Usually the best course of actions is to delete job that is marked as spam. Here's why:
If someone reported your job as spam then chances are that the same job will be marked as spam again by someone else.
The more Spam Reports you get - the smaller is your Daily Job Posting Limit.
Besides, PostJobFree moderators would eventually review jobs that were marked as spam and possibly delete them. In this case your Job Posting Limit would go even further down, because you would have officially confirmed spam job posting.
However if you are sure, that your job posting was marked as spam by mistake -- you may keep it. There is a chance that PostJobFree moderators would clean up good name of your job posting.

Job Posting Limit

Q: Why Job Posting Limit?

A: PostJobFree allows you post jobs for free. Unfortunately it tempts some recruiters to post many duplicate postings which are, in essence, spam.
Job seekers don't like spam postings, job search engines suppress duplicate postings, and now PostJobFree limits spam&duplicate postings too.

Q: How many jobs can I post?

A: Every recruiter starts with certain Daily Job Posting Limit (e.g. 10 jobs per 24 hours interval).
The more people see your job postings -- the higher your Daily Job Posting Limit is.
The more people click "Report Spam" button on your job posting -- the lower your Daily Job Posting Limit is.

Q: What do I do to increase my Daily Job Posting Limit?

1) Start posting jobs. If you post jobs that interest job seekers -- your Job Posting Limit will grow.

2) Avoid posting duplicate jobs. If you post multiple jobs with the same job description (cut&paste posting), job seekers will mark your postings as "Spam" -- that would quickly decrease your posting limit.

3) If you have the same opening in multiple locations -- make only one job posting, but mention all locations in job description. Another option - post different job descriptions for different locations.
See also: How to avoid duplicates with multiple locations jobs.

4) Respect job seekers -- if you harass them by your job postings they would report your postings as spam, and that in turn would cause sharp decrease in your Daily Job Posting Limit.

Q: I cannot post jobs today. How long before my account clears?

You account may never clear if you don't delete problem jobs, because more job seekers would report your jobs as spam.
I recommend you the following:

1) Delete all problem jobs right now to prevent marking them as spam.

2) Wait full 24 hours without any attempts to post jobs.
Only then post a job with proper job description.

3) Don't even try to post jobs when your limit is over (watch for these limit messages on the top of the page). Every posting attempt only postpones the moment when you'll be able to post again.

4) Be patient: if you post jobs that attract job seekers and don't generate spam reports -- eventually your job posting limit will grow.

Q: What if I didn't post jobs for a week and now need to post more?

Duplicate postings don't work anymore

Recently I got a question from a recruiter:
I have been a long time user and fan of your website. However, I have recently renewed several ads and I am experiencing some very slow indexing times to the partner sites. Normally, our response is very good and the postings seem to index daily. This time things seem to be taking much longer. Some of these renewals were posted on the 6th and are still not indexed on the partner sites. I am sure this is why our response has been so low. Have you changed something or can you give me an explanation on the delays so I can plan accordingly if this is a permanent change.

I really like your site and would like to continue posting to the job boards through it but need to know that when I post they will be indexed. We are currently contemplating as a management team whether to spend the money and use a pay service like monster and I really don’t want to have to go that route as the results there have not been any better than with your service when it is correctly indexing jobs. Please advise.
Here's my answer:
1) You posted LOTS of duplicates.
It worked for you in the past, but most probably won't work well in the future. That's why:

Reason #1: Duplicate postings not end up in search results

indeed.com and simplyhired.com fight duplicates&spam.
Your postings are indexed by indeed.com. In fact, PostJobFree postings are indexed by Indeed.com every two hours. But in order to see all your postings you need to click "repeat your search with the omitted job postings included." link.
Prompt indexing does not guarantee that duplicate postings will end up in default search results of job seeker.

Job seekers don't like duplicates, so job search web sites don't show duplicates.

Reason #2: Duplicate postings may be deleted

In the nearest future at PostJobFree.com we are going to suppress duplicates/spam.
If you continue to post lots of duplicates then chances are that you won't be able to make many postings on PostJobFree.com at all.
The more duplicates you post -- the more job seekers will click "Report Spam" button on your postings -- the less postings you will be able to make daily.

2) Here's what you can do to improve your job postings visibility:
Think less about gaming job search web sites and more about what job seekers are looking for.

What would job seekers like to see and what -- not to see?
In the end job search web sites try to please job seekers.

If you want to post the same job posting into different locations --
post only one job posting, but mention all locations in the body of
job posting.

You may also write different job postings for different locations
(even if they are in essence the same).

Job posting indexing every 2 hours by Indeed.com

Indeed.com now picks newly posted jobs from PostJobFree.com every two of hours.

For job posters that means that their PostJobFree job postings will be usually indexed by indeed.com in 2 hours or less since the moment of posting.

More frequent data exchange is now possible, because of special communication protocol between PostJobFree.com and Indeed.com -- only changes are passed between web sites, not the whole feed.
